Phase one
For the first few sessions with EMDR, we’ll identify areas of your life that are working.
We will strengthen positive beliefs you have about yourself and help you realize your strengths. During this first phase, we’ll develop your ability to regulate your emotions.
As humans, we’re not born with the skill to regulate our emotions. We have to learn it.
When emotions get intense, you must adjust your approach to discover effective ways of managing them.

After this initial phase of EMDR treatment, you’ll feel more confident and insightful. That means we can move into phase two.
Phase two
In this phase, you’ll begin processing any traumas, chronic stressors, overwhelming events – whatever seems to be blocking your path.
Our goal is to enable you to talk about what happened without feeling that uncomfortable surge of emotional tension.
